“The most difficult thing is the decision to
act. The rest is merely tenacity”

How much do sessions cost?

The cost will be dependent on whether you are using your insurance benefits or not. Check with your insurance company to find out whether I am an in network or out of network provider. Also find out your deductible and any copays or coinsurance you will owe as I will need this information prior to scheduling our first appointment.

Without insurance, my full fee for the first initial “intake” appointment is $175 and $155 for 50 minute therapy sessions.

If you would like to see me with your “Out of Network” benefits, I can provide you with a form (called a Superbill) which you can submit to your insurance company to try and receive reimbursement. If you want to try this, I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your specific plan’s policy is for out of network mental health providers. A word of warning though: in order to do this, I do have to assign you a “Diagnosis Code”, as required by insurance, which becomes part of your permanent medical record.

What insurance do you take?

Premera/Blue Cross Blue Shield, First Choice Health, and Kaiser PPO.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

I understand that things come up, so you can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. If it’s less than 24 hours notice or if you don’t contact me to cancel (a “no show”), you will be charged for the appointment.

What should I expect during the first visit?

The first session (an assessment) is more like an in-depth consultation, where I go into more detail about what to expect from therapy, answer any questions you may have about paperwork I’ve given you, and start talking about what has led you to seek therapy at this time. We will also talk about any goals you have in mind for our work together and any questions you may have about the therapy (goals) process.

After the first session, there will be very little (if any) more paperwork for you. You can save time by printing and filling out the paperwork you will need to bring to our first appointment.  I will email this to you prior to the first scheduled appointment.
