“In some ways, grieving the living is far more difficult than grieving the dead.”
–Dr. Ramani Durvasula
How much do sessions cost?
Without insurance, my full fee for the first initial assessment appointment is $185 and $165 for 55 minute therapy sessions.
If you would like to see me with your “Out of Network” benefits, I can provide you with a form (called a Superbill) which you can submit to your insurance company to try and receive reimbursement. If you want to try this, I recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your specific plan’s policy is for out of network mental health providers. A word of warning though: in order to do this, I do have to assign you a “Diagnosis Code”, as required by insurance, which becomes part of your permanent medical record.
What insurance do you take?
Premera and Kaiser PPO.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
I understand that things come up, so you can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. If it’s less than 24 hours notice or if you don’t contact me to cancel (a “no show”), you will be charged $100 for the appointment.
What should I expect during the first visit?
The first session (an assessment) we will be going over paperwork that you have filled out beforehand. This helps me get a sense of an overall “big picture” and helps set the stage for establishing rapport in the therapeutic relationship as well as for me to start getting to know you.
After the first session, there will be very little (if any) more paperwork for you, though I may send you helpful clinical handouts or resources from time to time as it deems relevant to what you’re focusing on in our therapy sessions.
